Your programme
Broadly speaking, students will be grouped under one of three levels or “stages” of the programme determined loosely by their age and stage of balletic development. Hatchlings, Nestlings and finally Fledglings.

Level 1: Preparatory ballet
Suitable for students aged 6 -8 years 8 places available per school yearA special class for the young dancer which is open to students from all schools. This class starts a detailed study of the fundamentals of ballet to include: beginning barre work, beginning center work, and stretching. After completion of the preparatory class students will be able to audition for the Fledgling Programme “Hatchling” level. Click here for further information

Level 2: Hatchling
8-10years
6 places available per school yearClassical ballet extension training with live piano accompaniment designed to extend and inspire the young dancer.
Hatchling students also have the opportunity for a custom programme of classes such as musicality for dancers, French language, contemporary, audition preparation and competition coaching. Students are encouraged to study piano, voice or composition to support their dance education.
May attend other schools or solely the Fledgling programme.

Level 3: Nestling
11-13 years
4-6 places available per school yearNestling is designed to extend the aspiring dance student with a programme of Classical Ballet, Contemporary dance, Character dance, strengthening and stretch classes, musicality and musical appreciation classes. Students are also introduced to the classical ballet repertoire and variations with local, national and international competition opportunities.
The whole dance education is supported with study of the French language and cultural history in the context of Ballet and Piano, voice or composition lessons as part of the programme.
Weekly gyrotonics and dance pilates reformer classes are included in the timetable and course fees.
May attend other schools or solely the Fledgling programme. Each student has a tailored timetable aligned with their goals.

Level 4: Fledgling
14-16 years or based on the individual4 places available
An intensive, tailored training experience for the pre-professional student on the cusp of starting their career.
Each student receives a tailored custom programme of classes designed to bring your technique and artistry to a new level.
Be supported as you transition from student to professional dancer with strategic career guidance, audition tour planning, networking and much more.
Programme classes have live piano accompaniment* and the Fledgling programme includes Classical Ballet, Contemporary dance, Character dance, strengthening and stretch classes, musicality and musical appreciation classes, French language and cultural history in the context of Ballet. Students also study piano, voice or composition to support their dance education.

Performance opportunities
Develop your musicality and artistry through performance. We will guide you through proper stage craft: everything from stage makeup, costume design, hair preparation, and theatre etiquette through to managing performance anxiety and building your mental toughness.
